Emergency kit

The essentials to have on hand for your pet in critical situations!

Looking for an emergency kit at home to deal with everyday mishaps?

Here are a few items to have at home for your pet to be prepared for any situation:
  • Benadryl, for allergic reaction (contact us before administration for correct dosage);
  • Hydrogen peroxide, to induce vomiting following ingestion of certain products or foods;
  • Graft clipper and Kwik Stop (powder to stop bleeding);
  • Skunk shampoo (you can never be too careful, and it always happens in the evening when everything’s closed);
  • Vaseline, to administer following ingestion of a foreign body;
  • Tick tweezers;
  • Bandages and compresses;
  • Disinfectant wipes;
  • Thermometer.
Human medicines

It’s important to note that under no circumstances should a medication made for humans be administered to your pet without the advice of a veterinarian.

For example, ibuprofen, acetaminophen and aspirin can cause serious problems for your pet, ranging from vomiting to destruction of red blood cells, as well as kidney and liver failure.

In short, a well-stocked emergency kit can make all the difference when your pet faces a critical situation. With the right tools and products at hand, you can intervene quickly and effectively before consulting a professional. Remember, however, that it’s imperative to seek veterinary advice before administering any treatment or medication to your pet.

Good preparation combined with extra vigilance will ensure your pet’s well-being and safety in all circumstances!
